Introducing the Stacked Seminar Layout.
By Ben Mooney, Head of Product
Agenda pages carry more weight on a conference website than almost any other page. They are where attendees decide whether your programme is worth their time, plan their day around it, and come back to repeatedly throughout the event itself, especially on mobile.
Stacked is built to make that experience as easy as possible, with sessions organised by day and time so attendees can find exactly what they are looking for without scrolling through the whole programme.
The Stacked layout (now available to all ShowOff clients on Composer 2) is designed to fix that.
What it does
Stacked is a time-aware agenda layout built for conferences, associations and trade shows with structured multi-day seminar programmes. When a visitor lands on the agenda page, they see:
- A row of date tabs across the top, one per event day. Today's date is selected automatically. Sessions from other days stay out of the way until needed.
- A time navigation panel on the side of the screen, with one button per hour block. On mobile this moves to a pinned bar at the bottom of the screen, so it stays accessible without scrolling back to the top.
- The session list for the selected day, automatically scrolled to the current hour if the visitor is viewing the page while the event is live. If a session is happening right now, the page goes straight to it.
The result is an agenda that behaves the way attendees actually use it: by day, by time, with no hunting required.
The details that make the difference
Past days appear at reduced opacity automatically, so the timeline always feels current without any manual updates from your team.
Speakers, streams, locations, sponsors and session tags — Featured, Sponsored, New — are all configurable per session card, so the agenda reflects your programme accurately rather than applying the same generic layout to every session type.
Break sessions such as breakfast, lunch and networking are visually distinct from programme sessions, which means the schedule reads clearly at a glance.
Add to Calendar is available as an optional button on each session card, letting attendees save individual sessions directly to Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar without leaving the page.
Who it is for
Stacked is designed for any event with a structured multi-day programme. Conferences and association events are the obvious fit, but trade shows with seminar theatres, multiple streams or parallel sessions benefit just as much.
If your attendees are navigating a full programme across two or more days, Stacked gives them and you significantly more control over that experience. If you run a single-day event with a handful of sessions, a simpler layout will serve you better.
Getting set up
Stacked is available now on Composer 2. If you're an existing client, full configuration guidance is in the knowledge base, or get in touch with your account manager for help setting it up.
If you are not yet a client and want to see how your agenda page could work harder for attendees, we would be happy to show you.
